Yu-Jung LIU 劉于榕

Group member

Dr. Yu-Jung Liu is an Assistant Professor at the School of Public Health, Taipei Medical University. Her lab works on electrochemical treatment technologies, emerging and persistent organic pollutants (POPs), and environmental toxicology. The team uses quantum chemical modeling to predict how contaminants break down, then turns to GC-MS and LC-MS to identify the intermediates that actually form. Out of this work, they are compiling a structural database of reaction byproducts for compounds like PPCPs, PBDEs, and PFAS. The lab also runs in vitro bioassays on treated water to check what biological risks remain, with the broader goal of developing wastewater treatment methods that are low in energy demand, low in toxicity, and genuinely practical to deploy.
